Calling Of Phasmic Presence/Ceremonial Crypt Desecration Split cover art

Last week we cursed the world with the first known utterance from a new group of Canadian raw black metal defilers operating under the name Calling of Phasmic Presence when we premiered their eponymous track from the already-sold out Seeds of Ruin compilation unleashed only two nights ago by Murder on Ponce. Earlier this year, some seven weeks ago, we hosted three of the latest Ceremonial Crypt Desecration anathemas from that Strayan black metal menace’s joint effort with Klanen—now sold out as well. Tonight, in an effort to annihilate our readers entirely, we are privileged to feature the forthcoming split between these two underground instruments of evil and mass moral corruption. Out this spring on 12” vinyl and cassette from stateside bunker Banner of Blood, the split between Calling of Phasmic Presence and Ceremonial Crypt Desecration comprises six and three tracks of unhinged, predatory black metal.

Calling of Phasmic Presence

Filled with banshee howls, nauseous guitar melodies and inhuman battery, Calling of Phasmic Presence’s side of this black conspiracy spells out five tremulous ‘Hymns’ of sickness and unholy possession. As if spiraling ever-downward, the final track from Calling of Phasmic Presence calls to mind some nadir point in Hell where all of the towering levels above can be heard in a muffled chorus of dreadful cacophony.

Ceremonial Crypt Desecration

Ceremonial Crypt Desecration begin their side with some heavily molested audio of a Christian psalmody before ripping into their patent ear-raping acrimony. Crank the volume and watch the mushroom cloud bloom over creation: no one does harsh wall of obliteration quite like CCD. Those who remain uninitiated to the crippling venom unleashed by this Australian serpent have unwittingly stumbled into their deadliest material yet. With atmosphere like mephitic fallout and riffs like whip lashes, Ceremonial Crypt Desecration mercilessly euthanize listeners still lingering on after the spell of sickness laid upon their heads by Calling of Phasmic Presence.
